So here’s a fun experiment I tried recently – Miniature Garden TV!
You know those “calming cat TV” videos that are everywhere now? The ones with birds flitting around feeders while your kitty sits mesmerized for hours? Well, I thought… why not do the same thing IN a mini garden?
This video is an hour and a half of pure bird (and squirrel!) entertainment in one of my “big” gardens. No talking, no music, no ads, no interruptions – just the peaceful sounds of nature and the sight of our feathered friends enjoying their buffet among the tiny trees, pathways, and garden accessories.
About This Garden
This is an authentic, living in-ground miniature garden that I planted back in 2022 here in south Seattle. All the plants are hardy perennials that have been thriving in Zone 7 conditions for over three years now. This video was filmed in January 2026, so you’re seeing a mature miniature ecosystem in action – complete with visiting songbirds and our resident squirrels!

What You’ll See in the Miniature Garden
Sparrows, finches, juncos, and other Pacific Northwest songbirds stopping by for snacks throughout the day. The squirrels make their usual dramatic appearances too, because of course they did. Everything happens at garden level, so you get this intimate view of wildlife interacting with the miniature landscape.
Is it relaxing? YES.
Is it oddly satisfying to watch? Also YES.
Will it help you procrastinate on that project you’re supposed to be doing? ABSOLUTELY. (You’re welcome!)
Pop this on while you’re working, crafting, or just need some peaceful background vibes. It’s like having a miniature garden sanctuary right on your screen – the perfect blend of nature watching and miniature gardening that brings a little joy into your day.

All the plants, accessories, and hardscape elements you see in this garden came from our online store at TwoGreenThumbs.com. If you’d like to create your own living miniature garden that attracts wildlife (or just looks amazing!), we’ve got everything you need to get started.
And I made another one during the Superbowl week – for fun but I also wanted to see how the bird interacted with the miniatures. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that blue Scrub Jay. He’s part of the Corvid family (think crows and jays,) his blue colors really sing in this overcast day in south Seattle. Enjoy!

Very beautiful and I love the gardens. I’m nursing two ‘reduced’ Bonsai trees back to health and hope to do something with little houses – indoors for the time being as we in France are having tons of rain. The Bonsais are doing well and have revived.
