The Gardening in Miniature Books
The Gardening in Miniature books, published by Timber Press, were instrumental in establishing this new hobby, and helped to spread the idea worldwide. The first book, Gardening in Miniature: Create Your Own Tiny Living World, broke records for the publisher as it was the first and only book that needed to be reprinted BEFORE its release date in June of 2013.
The second Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book was based on 37 different projects for the miniature garden, but it was rushed through the publishing process and hastily marketed to the public in 2017. The book sales never took-off like the first book, as it was caught in between changing editors and publicists at Timber Press at the time, despite being a very fun deep-dive into the new hobby. It really should have done better than it did as it re-established a new way to grow and to enjoy gardening.
Since then, the first book has been translated into four different languages, reprinted seven times and sold nearly 40,000 copies before being discontinued in 2022. Timber Press, the world’s top horticultural publishing company was sold to a bigger conglomeration and our books are now being weeded-out of their existance. (You can still find a copy today, while supplies last!)
“There’s no need to wait for a season
to have a reason to garden in miniature!”
